A beautiful Harappan jar from the Indus Valley, ca. 2500 - 1800 BC. This great example is 4-1/4 high, 4-3/4 inches in diameter and is decorated with a pair of Brahma bulls separated by plants and surrounded with a variety of symbols. The widely flared rim has an unusual scalloped edge and is surrounded by a band of Ibex. Intact, with good paint and mineral deposits. (IV537)
