CONTINUATION OF TWO (2) EPIS OF THREE COLOUR ENAMELLED PORCELAIN STONEWARE TILES / SANCAI

Lourdes. They consist of a long "stem" / "tongue" with the dough left bare, which was inserted into the angular edge of the roof, and a termination / top part, which was intended to be seen. One is moulded in the imitation of a yellow crescent moon rising from blue cloud volutes; the other is moulded in the imitation of a blue full moon, also rising from cloud volutes. Both are enamelled on both sides and are intended to be seen from all sides. Both were intended to complement each other to adorn the roof of a Taoist temple. Offered for sale with antique wooden pedestals allowing their display.
