A CHARLES X ORMOLU MOUNTED EBONY LYRE FORM MANTLE CLOCK, BY LUCIEN MAUREL, CIRCA 1827, the circular silvered and engraved moire patterned dial within an arrow and acanthus detailed lappet paneled bezel, enclosing black Roman chapters above blued steel Briguet hands and twin key escapements, signed "Lucien Maurel" over an illegible location, flanked by scrolling foliate and paterae cast bronzes on shaped sides beneath splayed tips with paterae pendants, joined by a rod stretcher with stylized palmette finials centering a reticulated bronze of elegant swans flanking a fruit and flower-filled basket, suspending a rose bloom ringed and repoussé detailed pendulum, raised on a stepped rectangular base with central banding of acanthus and anthemion details, on a block form plinth with circular carved feet, reversing to an interior clock mechanism stamped "GRANGE & BETOUT A PARIS," and with a "PONS MEDAILLE D'OR 1827" pastille.
