A SCOTTISH BRASS LANTERN CLOCK, BY MUIRHEAD & ARTHUR, GLASGOW, FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY, a 1954 congratulatory retirement toast inscribed on the bell dome top suspended from a domed cage of stylized foliate pendants alternating arched bands ending on the corners of a square form lantern case with urn form finials, flanking pierced arch crests of entwined dolphins amidst blossoming tendril foliage with engraved details, above an oversized patinated ring dial with black engraved Roman chapters alternating leafy stems, centering reticulated cut steel hands and twin key escapements on a conforming face with engraved swirling acanthus leaves and signed "Muirhead & Arthur / Glasgow," within similarly engraved corner spandrels flanked by colonette corners and hinged panel sides, raised on shape ball and knob form feet.
