He and Xie Gongzhan, Lu Fengzi, etc. founded the Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts.Although Mr. Tao Lengyue was one of the earliest successful painters who tried to integrate Chinese and Western paintings, his works have remained obscure for almost 50 years.
