FINE, HALF-HEIGHT CORNER CABINET,
Transition, Neuwied ca. 1770/75. Workshop of Abraham and David Roentgen.
Tulipwood, rosewood, satinwood and maple, inlaid in boxwood, in part tinted, "en mosaique", with a fine bouquet of flowers suspended from a ribbon with a bow and an eyelet, framed by broad fillets in tulipwood. The frame, edged with brass. Curved door. The inside with 1 drawer. Grey/white speckled marble top (repaired). 1 key.
77 x 54 x 93 cm.
Minor losses in the marquetry. Somewhat bleached-out.
Attractive half-height corner cabinet with marquetry typical for the Roentgen workshop. The original shades of blue and grey are strongly bleached-out.
