LIDDED TUREEN,
Meissen, ca. 1750.
The round tureen, in new basket-weave relief, is painted with fine bird vignettes and scattered insects, the handles are accentuated in gold and bear applied vegetables. The cover features a sculpted still-life, comprising lobster, beans, mushrooms, asparagus, cabbage and strawberries. Underglaze blue sword mark.
D 20 cm.
