The "yellow lion" belongs to the decorations which the French merchant Lemaire had ordered in Meissen between 1729 and 1730, for selling as Asian porcelain in France. The Schneider Collection in Lustheim owns a larger number of tableware pieces (J. Weber, Meissener Porzellane mit Dekoren nach ostasiatischen Vorbildern, 2013, Vol. II, pp. 265-289).
