Measurements: Height: 7" Width/Lenght: 6.125" Diameter/Depth: 6.125" Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Xuande porcelain high bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow deep body, thick, large and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward flaring mouth rim, raised on a tall cylindrical, with splayed foot base and slight concave. The exterior decorated of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a dark blue color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and vapors. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on upper base, a four blue script characters reign mark, XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
