Measurements: Height: 17" Diameter/Depth: 10" Chinese Yuan Dynasty Period, blue and white dragon porcelain vase. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, heavy body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging thick flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt under glazed blue, depicted of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a dark blue color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and vapors. Flowers blooms with foliage and ruyi shaped large pendants filled by scrolling clouds, interspersed by floral and fruiting banquets on the shoulder. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy.
