The porcelain stoutly potted with baluster jar with tall feminine silhouette raised on prominent foot ring, with short neck further to wide opening. The baluster jar is capped by a relatively tall bell-shaped lid, in form of a general's helmet, crowned with a circle light-blue pinnacle and the gilt ring on the tip. The exterior delicately painted in various rich tones and cobalt blue depicted the intertwined leafy tendrils that hold iron-red large blooms and Fu-bat motifs which are bordered by scrolling vines. DouCai means soft colors which fit together which is evident in this harmoniously painted bowl. The artistry is a combination of underglazed blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines.
