Measurements: Height: 4 3/8" Diameter: 9" Chinese Yongzheng sgraffito douqing glazed porcelain bowl. Potted with a deep curvature leading upward to a slightly everted rim and a short elevated foot base. The exterior carved with archaic dragon amongst dense Li-Shui waves motif ribbon wrapping around the body. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky pale-celadon glaze, pooling on the base slightly veiling the mark. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. The under base bear a reign mark, a vertical six under-glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Made in The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
