A Chinese iron-red and white porcelain plate with a 6-character Daoguang mark and of the period. The plate features 3 bats around the exterior and 4 guardian lions playing with balls within the interior. Dimensions are: 1 1/4 inches tall X 7 1/4 inches wide; 3.2 cm tall X 18.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: A hairline crack in the rim and minor wear to the glaze. Provenance: From Loma Linda University in California; donated by the estate of a former professor.
