A blue-and-white Chinese tea set dating from the Kangxi period. Includes a teapot featuring a man and an elephant in a landscape, 2 cups depicting flowers and another depicting a phoenix among other birds, and 2 dishes featuring birds among flowers. Dimensions are: 7 1/4 inches tall X 6 inches wide; 18.4 cm tall X 15.2 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Scattered rim chips throughout all, spout of the teapot is broken and several areas are missing. Provenance: From Mr. Van Melle in Southern California; acquired in Europe during the 1980s.
