Martelé Silver Kettle on Stand, Providence, Rhode Island, 1911 Marks: Martelé, (lion-anchor-G under eagle), .9584, WSL, SPAULDING & Co., CHICAGO. 13-1/2 x 10 x 8-1/2 inches (34.3 x 25.4 x 21.6 cm) (with stand and handle upright) 67.36 troy ounces PROPERTY FROM A SOUTHERN COLLECTION The kettle with hand hammered surface, having floral finial to hinged lid, swing handle terminating above chased repoussé floral decoration, raised on a four shaped, lobed feet with conforming motif; stand mimics kettle with decoration climbing the two raised support arms. Originally retailed by Spaulding & Co., Chicago, Illinois. According to the Gorham Archives, production of the kettle on stand began October 5m 1911m Alfred J.
