Voß Collection, Berlin (documented in the Fotoarchiv Marburg), certainly the art historian Georg Voß (1854-1932). Expert opinion by Dr. Miller, Ottobrunn, 21.7.2010. Excerpts of the report state: "This is a characteristic work from the workshop of the sculptor Jörg Stein, who can be traced back to Ulm between 1453 and 1491. The closest relative is the figure of St. Barbara in the parish church of Hochwang near Günzburg (cf. Fig. 1)" - "With regard to the facial type and the organisation of the wrinkles, the Madonna in the parish church of Schweinhausen near Biberach is also easily comparable (cf. Fig. 2)" - "With regard to the width of the figures and the accentuated curve of the hips, a small Madonna in private ownership is best compared. (Cf. Fig. 3)
