A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY FRENCH JACOB PETIT PORCELAIN FIGURAL INCENSE HOLDERS OF A SULTAN AND SULTANA, MADE FOR THE TURKISH MARKET the Ottoman figures modelled as a seated sultan with a hookah pipe and sultana with a bird, with openings in their turbans, in polychrome costumes on burgundy canted bases, each marked J.P. mark in underglaze-blue to the underside, 17cm high (2) Auction Comparable: A similar pair by Jacob Petit were sold at Sotheby's, New York, 24 September 2012, lot 249, $4000.
