A Roman coin and cultured pearl brooch, by Elizabeth Gage, 1994 Set with two Roman coins impressed with the profile of Flavius Magnus Magnentius Augustus (c.303–353 AD), one collet-set within a hammered surround with ropetwist detail, the other within a mount inscribed, 'Magnetius 350-353 A.D.', accented by 9.5mm cultured pearl terminals with granulation detail, mounted in 18 carat yellow gold, signed Gage, maker's mark EG, London hallmark, length 8.6cm Footnotes: Flavius Magnus Magnentius Augustus was a usurper of the Roman Empire from 350-353 AD.
