Lg Chinese Qing Dynasty Cloisonne & Gilt Bronze Elephant in lavender-gray enamel & holding a Vase (tai ping you xiang), the Elephant with a saddle carpet of 4-Claw Dragons and descending Bats, the harness with gold beads, enameled "jewels" and a hanging cloisonne tassel at the neck; on its engraved gilt bronze saddle it is carrying a removable vase with a cloisonne design of scrolling Lotus Yinyang and holding 2 ruyi scepters and 2 pendant bats. Total height to top of vase 22 1/8 inches (56.2 cm.) X width of Elephant 20 3/4 inches (52.6 cm.). Good Condition with light age related wear to enamels and gilt bronze, 3 small flakes to enamels at base of Vase.
