This lot includes an accompanying postcard postmarked Dec 23, 1962 that refers to Burliuk's art. Internationally renowned as the "father of Futurism" in his native Ukraine and in Russia, David Burliuk was a major contributor to the seminal period of modernism in the early decades of the 20th century. David Burliuk died on Long Island in 1967.
