Leslie Cope (b. Stoke-on-Trent, 1913-2002) American Impressionist. "Early Morning, Fisherman's wharf Gloucester, Mass." Oil on board. signed and dated "Leslie Cope 1984". You can clearly see the boat name 'Mary Ann". Mr. Cope was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England and immigrated to the U.S. in 1931, ultimately settling in Roseville, Ohio. He worked as a designer for The McCoy Pottery and is known for his depictions of rural life, and also Gloucester scenes.
