A GEORGE III MAHOGANY GUN CASE ON LATER STAND, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY. the long rectangular hinged lid centering an inset bronze circular disc with recessed semi circular pull, opening to a worn blue felt lined interior composed of various rifle/shotgun part compartments, enclosed by the conforming case with two exterior recessed bronze latches flanking a simple keyhole, height: 3 1/2", width: 35", depth: 9"; together with a later custom carved oak stand, height: 18 3/4", width: 36", depth: 10".
