A CHINESE SANCAI GLAZE TERRACOTTA SEDAN CART WITH EQUESTRIAN ATTENDANTS, TANG DYNASTY (618-907), with cream, green, orange-brown and lemon yellow glazed terracotta, the lotus anther form finial displayed over an open flower blossom within four lotus pod medallions with recessed carpels, with upturned pointed roof ends, over a rectangular sedan with curtains centered by a fifth lotus pod medallion opening to reveal a seated male noble or courtly figure, the flat bed cart raised on large wheels with tapered paneled spokes, the proud muscular horses, their mains swept to one side are harnessed closely to the cart, guided by two attendants with flat caps tied by a sash, wearing long sleeved tunics over skirts hemmed just below the knee, walking in heavy boots, the group presented on a "D" shaped base.
