A LOUIS PHILIPPE GLASS DOMED AND ORMOLU MOUNTED MARQUETRY INLAID ROSEWOOD PORTICO CLOCK, 1840s, the rectangular block form cornice with applied white painted molding above a frieze centering stylized shell and leafy stems satinwood inlay, over a circular silvered bronze engine turned dial with black Roman chapters and blued steel Breguet hands above twin key escapements and signed "Bohard Fils Paris," reversing to a twin barrel brass mechanism and cover stamped with a circular pastille "MEDAILLE D' ARGENT/Vincent & Cie," numbered "631 81," suspending an elaborately detailed grille and disc pendulum centering a stern Cupid holding a down turned flaming torch and a butterfly, verso within a nicely cast bezel of shell and exotic birds over undulating fruiting leafy vines ending before a maiden's mask, flanked by Tuscan columns with egg and dart capitals over long leaf engine turned collars and string line inlaid columnar shafts, ending in circular engine turned socles and square form pads on a similarly detailed rectangular molded base and conforming block plinth with white painted molding above a similarly decorated frieze, raised on rounded corner pad feet, height: 19 1/2", width: 10 1/2", depth: 6 1/2"; together with a custom glass dome and matching stand, height: 25 1/2", width: 12", depth: 8".
