A CHARLES X ORMOLU MOUNTED POLISHED BLACK MARBLE PORTICO CLOCK, BY ANTOINE NOSEDA, MARSEILLE, 1820s, architectural style with a molded rectangular cornice over an unadorned frieze, supported by four Tuscan columns with engine turned gilt bronze capitals on columnar shafts ending on similar engine turned collars and square pad bases, enclosing a white enameled circular dial with black Roman hour chapters, Arabic calendar day numerals and abbreviated days of week, centering blued cut steel Breguet "moon" tipped hour/minute hands and arrow tipped week day/number hand as well as a seconds hand, above twin key escapements and signed "Ant. Noseda à Marseille," within a guilloché detailed bezel, reversing to a two barrel brass mechanism and cover numbered "3727 B," stamped rectangular "BECHOT," before a notched wheel and double hammer strike on later dome bell with hook suspended grille rods and disc pendulum numbered "L 3727," over a block form pedestal and conforming molding trimmed plinth raised on laurel leaf banded bronze feet.
