A FOUR PIECE GEORGE III STERLING SILVER TEA/COFFEE SET, HALLMARKED, PAUL STORR, LONDON, 1815, comprising a coffee pitcher with a walnut finial on hinged lid and walnut handle, height: 8 1/2"; a teapot with a walnut finial on hinged lid and walnut handle, height: 6 1/8"; a floral cast two handled sugar bowl, height: 4"; a floral cast single handled creamer, height: 4"; each modeled with a gadrooned rim partitioned by scrolling shell and acanthus details, above a vertical reeded band tapering to a conforming raised foot, each with five hallmarks on side or underside, total approximate weight: 64. 17 troy oz. Note: Paul Storr (English 1770-1844) was a talented and highly respected gold/silversmith during the Georgian Era. His success in Neo-Classical silver designs led to Royal commissions as well as retail silverware for the upper classes. Royalty and the British aristocratic families commissioned grand centerpieces and dinnerware that are still in use today. An example is the Grand Service of Buckingham Palace used for State Banquets and important occasions.
