AN INDO-PORTUGUESE INLAID ROSEWOOD AND SILVER GILT INLAID MOUNTED TABLE TOP CABINET, PROBABLY GOAN, LATE MUGHAL EMPIRE (1526-1857), of rectangular form with open dovetailing, the exterior with a profusion of geometric medallions within a border of fruiting pomegranate leafy tendrils, each corner fitted with hand cut silver gilt mounts, a central strap hinge with bead and rope twist detail folds over a loop latch, two round loop handles pull open revealing two doors with interior concentric eight petaled and four petaled flowers, centering ruffle molding encased vanity mirrors, fitted with an arrangement of a upper long drawer with dual drawer façade flanked by two square drawers, above a central deep locking drawer containing a secret compartment within four short drawers, over a second long drawer with dual drawer façade flanked by two square drawers, the façades with myriad star flowers and lattice pierced revealing glittering silvered plates, raised on a string inlaid plinth on ring turned star flower inlaid legs.
