A PAIR OF MING DYNASTY STYLE ENAMELED BRONZE DISCIPLES OF BUDDHA, 17TH/18TH CENTURY, enameled bronze standing figures of two principal disciples of the Gautama Buddha, standing with hands in folded ushas mudra, the youthful Ananda, his serene downcast plump face over namaskara mudra hands revealing beautiful cast layered folds of the sleeves; their monk robes trimmed in meandering lotus bloom bands, feet covered in traditional shoes, raised on oval bases atop flaming lotus blooms, each petal with scroll, now French mounted on wood bases with conforming exterior rod for use as lamps with archaic style translucent white and russet jade cylinder bead finials.
