作者简介 威廉·桑德斯（William Thomas Saunders，1832-1892），英国商业摄影师，1862-1887年在上海开设森泰照相馆，拍摄的内容和题材众多，诸如官员出行、罪犯行刑等新闻时事和社会风俗照片，为《远东》（The Far East）、《伦敦新闻画报》（Illustrated London News）等杂志所刊用。他在十九世纪中叶就开始依据中国传统的文化和习俗，设计场景、雇用模特、摆布拍摄了一批照片，如法堂、轿夫、马车、囚犯、吸食鸦片等等，是“中国最早的插图摄影师”
