NEVERS, late 18th century. Revolutionary ASSEMBLY with contoured edge in stanniferous earthenware. Polychrome decoration in the centre of a fleur-de-lys under a closed royal crown and flanked by flags, cannonballs, drums and fife. On the reverse side, various handwritten later inscriptions. Diam. 23 cm (shine and restorations). JOINT : ASSEMBLY in the taste of NEVERS, with a contoured earthenware rim. Polychrome decoration of large fire with two crests framed with foliage, bearing an inscription "union Force Liberte Patrie 1791" below, a trophy consisting of a drum, two cannons, trumpets, cannonballs, surmounted by a two-pointed cross, a shovel and a spade topped with a Phrygian cap.
