Great, Chinese Ming Dynasty Period Yongle blue & white wrapped floral brush washer. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, broad wide cavetto, deep sides round, bulbous body gently toward to wide upper opening lip, raised on a slight round and concave footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue design color. The Exterior adorned with scrolling tendril, flowers blooms and foliage. The Inner base center decorated with interlocking scrolling tendril and auspicious pattern, enclosed with thrashing wavy Lishui water, banded with double fine blue rings. The inner body festooned with flowers blooms and interlocking foliage. The wide opening lip decorated with thrashing cresting wavy Lishui water. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving.
