Highly valued Chinese Zitan wood carved unto a hexagonal Buddha temple house, erected on comforting platform base, surrounded by six cylindrical straight pillars supporting the side walls with numerous openings to the front, and open-work carved rails on platform and roof. Decorated in reliefs of scrolling rococo foliate interspersed the Bajixiang, the Eight Buddhist emblems, and many auspicious symbols. The Zitan wood display smooth lustrous dense hardwood with dark purple-brown patina and feathery fine grain. The roof crowned with hexagonal bud finials.
