Extraordinary, Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white Lychee abundant motif porcelain fish pot. The shape having thick potted body, sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with opening, raised on round flat base. All reserved in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. The main body delicately decorated with abundant ripe lychee tree, interspersed with dense fresh foliage, banded with geometric petals on the shoulder and the foot base rim. The neck decorated with scrolling interlocking tendril, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. PROVENANCE: Charlotte, NC, Private collectors.
