Pair of vertical fragments of Plateresque altarpiece in carved wood in relief, polychrome and gold, Spain h. 1500-1530.
Both with the same composition but different decorative motifs. The common elements in both are: in the upper part lion masks inside a clipboard of cut leathers that hold a ribbon in the mouth that will be the link between all the other figures that appear that alternate with cherubs. The bottom with a cut corner has a cherub. In one of them the figures that appear are profile sibyls, one of them holding a medallion with a male profile that looks turban. In the other there is a sibyl, a male nude, a medallion with a femanine profile with a vintage hat and a male profile with a long white beard. All already with a Renaissance anatomical treatment.
