Vassel for ritual offerings (Hsùn-ok), Burmese pagoda shape - red lacqured bamboo, decorated - Burma, Bagan - 19th century. Hsùn-ok, made of red lacquered bamboo, exceptionally decorated in the style of the Bagan area. Hsùn-Ok is the most fascinating and characteristic lacquer object from Burma. It's a vase made for fruit and food offerings for the temple or the monastery. Its shape resembles that of a stupa or a Burmese pagoda with a succession of overlapping spiral discs and a soaring spire.
