A Chinese watercolor and ink fan painting on silk of a fisherman on a river by Hu Xi. It has 1 seal, a dedication, description, and is mounted on a paper backing. Dimensions are: 8 1/2 inches tall X 10 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The painting shows creasing and is worm eaten at the edges. Provenance: From the estate of Lee Yuhuang. Mr. Lee was an accomplished artist in Hong Kong, where he was part of the Lingnan School, before he emigrated to San Francisco. While in San Francisco, he taught Chinese painting techniques and continued to collect Chinese paintings and calligraphy, a practice he had begun in Hong Kong.
