A Chinese famille rose porcelain vase dating from the Republic period. The vase has a 4-character mark on the bottom and depicts scholar's items, birds, flowers and an 8-character inscription with a bat on the reverse. Dimensions are: 14 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Several chips to the base, overall good. Provenance: From Mrs. Lin of Honolulu, HI, by descent from her parents, who brought their collection to Hawaii from China prior to 1952.
