Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and mineral colours on silk in silk mounts, depicting an auspicious New Year's Day scene with the rising sun, mature pine trees and saplings, cranes, flowering plum and minogame (busy-tailed tortoises) in and above a stream, signed Kyosai Toiku Noriyuki ga (Painted by Kyosai Toiku Noriyuki) and sealed Kyosai; with wood storage box. Overall: 194cm x 64.7cm (76 3/8in x 25½in); image: 105.6cm × 42.7cm (41½in × 16¾in). (2).注脚Kyosai assumed the name Toiku Noriyuki in 1849.
