North India, the plaque dated AH 1051 / AD 1641-42, the gem-set decoration 19th Centuryof oval form with suspension loop to the upper edge, in openwork gold mount, one side inlaid with diamonds, emeralds and rubies in kundan setting forming a floral spray enclosed within a border of square panels, alternate squares set with rubies, verso engraved with nasta'liq inscription
5.5 cm. wide注脚Inscriptions: Qur'an, chapter II (al-baqarah), verse 255, 'The year 1051 (1641-2)'.
