The globular vessel cast wish stylised taotie in shallow relief and four archaistic phoenixes in appliqué at the rim, all held on the shoulders of four mythical beasts standing on a flat disc supported by a double-baluster stem with upright lappets and c-scrolls, all rising from a domed foot decorated with chilong in shallow relief, the base with a flowerhead surrounded by further c-scrolls, the domed cover with further taotie and phoenix finial. 25.5cm (9 7/8in) high (2).注脚Provenance: Desmond Morris collection.
