“枝山允明”款 |祝允明（1460—1526），字希哲，号枝山，因手有六指，故自号枝指生。长洲（今江苏苏州）人，徐有祯的外孙。明弘治五年（1492）举人，正德九年（1514）授广东惠州府兴宁县知县。嘉靖元年（1522）转任应天府（今南京）通判，人称“祝京兆”。嘉靖二年（1523）因病归里，三年后病故于家。祝允明工诗文，是明代著名的文学家。他又以善书着称，真、行、草和章草皆精，亦能画，但传世者极少，与文征明、唐寅、徐祯卿并称为“吴中四才子”。
