CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE IMPERIAL YELLOW GROUND LOTUS VASE,
Qianlong mark but probably Daoguang period, of ovoid form with four daoist roundels enamelled with pink stylised beasts and clouds on a turquoise background, surrounded by profuse scrolling lotus flowerheads and foliage interspersed with buddhistic symbols including pairs of fish, bats, peach blossom, beneath a meandering band with gilt key decoration and a ruyi border and above a lappet foot rim, the interior and base in pale turquoise, blue six character seal type mark, with a hardwood stand, height 28cm
Provenance: Given as a gift to the vendors grandfather in the 1920's when he left Manchuria and thence by descent.
