Rare Japanese 19 Century Black & Gold Lacquer Shrine, the gold interior with a well carved seated multi-armed Figure on a gilt double lotus throne and holding various miniature auspicious objects, with 2 flanking figures, the rectangular case shaped like a miniature building with a roof and platform base with 4 panel Doors on hinges. Light age related wear to black & gold lacquer, wear to edges, small auspicious objects missing from central figure, figure to front left missing left arm. Height of inside figures from base 17 1/4 inches (44 cm.). Total height of case closed 21 3/4 inches (55 cm.) X width at base 15 1/2 inches (39.5 cm.).
