A Tibetan gilt iron prayer container dating from the 17th to the 18th century. A prayer or holy scroll would be rolled up inside this metal tube. The exterior features gilt Shou medallions and vine tracery, and the tube contains an old bamboo pen and pencil with lead. Dimensions are: 14 5/8 inches tall X 1 inches wide.
