A Chinese Huanghuali scholar's box dating from the 17th century. The box has 5 drawers with a shallow tray in the top and brass handles and pulls. Dimensions are: 11 3/4 inches tall X 13 inches wide X 9 1/2 inches deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor seams and cracking from dryness, a few minor scratches, and loss of 1 corner element at the base. Provenance: From a Southern California collector.
