张振铎（1908.9—1989.4），原名鼎生，字闻天，浙江浦江人。他治学勤奋，襟怀坦荡，植根生活，勇于创新，以继承和发展国画事业、培养美术人才为己任，数十年如一日。师承山阴画派，早年受业于经亨颐、吕凤子、潘天寿等。善于博取众家之长，作画简逸粗犷，苍劲浑厚，风格独特，李可染称之为“南张北李（李苦禅）”。
其艺术创作生涯纵贯上世纪20年代至80年代，足迹遍及大半个中国，创作了大量有影响的作品，形成了特有的艺术风格，为我国画界公认和推崇。
