Yuan cobalt blue monochrome porcelain bowl. With simply gently rounded side emerging steeply to a slightly everted rim, raised on the concave footed ring base. The exterior masterfully covered in an even coat of a deep blue glaze which terminates at the foot base rim to reveal the pure white underglaze. The blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Measurements: 3-5/8" H x 7-3/8" Diam.PROVENANCE:From the private collections of Green family, of New York, by inheritance. Estate from ST LAWRENCE ANTIQUES, Riverside DR, Ogdensburg, New York.
