RARE. 19th C. Chinese Qing Dynasty Daoguang porcelain lidded GUI censer. All reserved in attractive monochrome Zijin glaze, the very dark brownish bronze color glaze. A rectangular porcelain lidded GUI censer, with dome lid sloping shoulders and lifting bails on the carved domed cover. The rectangle main body decorated with auspicious pattern against key fret motif surrounded the exterior surface. Flanked archaic mystical beast on the main body created handles. Raised on the four legs. The dome decorated with key fret pattern on the rim and scrolling tendril on the center. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the Zijin, the glaze, the carving, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.The under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Daoguang Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty ( 1782- 1850).Measurements: 5-1/2" H x 9-1/4" WPROVENANCE:From the private collections of Madame Kimball, of Boston, Massachusetts, by inheritance.
