Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor Reign period, blue monochrome porcelain plate. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, of a shallow vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a wide flared lip and shallow draft, raised on a slightly raised footing. The exterior masterfully covered in an even coat of a deep blue glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white underglaze. The blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white underglaze. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears reign mark, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.Measurements: Height: 2-3/8" Diameter: 15-1/8"
