"Clowning Around" Paul Lantz (New Mexico, Nebraska, 1908-2000). Painting of a whimsical clown. Signed and dated lower right 1963. Lantz studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, where he was then the youngest student ever to be enrolled. At age seventeen, he went to New York for further study at The National Academy and Art Students League, and then to Europe for further art study (1926), and then back to New York. From there he went to Santa Fe New Mexico where from 1929 to 1939, he worked with artist Randall Davey. Oil on Canvas.Sight Size: 23 x 47.5 in. Overall Size: 31.75 x 56 in. (D2043)
